On April 20, 2018 the representatives of the international innovation business (ROLD, SAP, NOKIA) and the experts of the EC Erasmus + OIPEC (Open Innovation Platform for University-Enterprise Collaboration) project took part in the "Innovation and Business Development by Design, Collaboration and Digitalization" section, organized by Innovation Business & Entrepreneurship Lab (innovationStudio) of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Economics and shared their experiences with entrepreneurs and managers of SMEs in creating new product and innovation business using models of "open innovation", digital technologies and design.

Nowadays building value and providing compelling customer experiences demands a different organization of business activities and related operating models. The emerging generation of operating models for innovative companies combines digital technologies, design methods and open/collaborative approach for product/service innovation and process development. Design is the instrument of value creation and exploits the inputs of multiple stakeholders and the growing opportunities of modern technologies. Innovation becomes the key to provide value to users (e.g. pleasure or a healthy lifestyle), value to companies (e.g. more income, a more positive image) and value for society (e.g. environmental impact & less waste). The mix of design and business mindsets and competencies is the powerful element of innovation ecosystem and modern business culture.
